Morris and Ettie Silber flew to Israel together with their daughter and son in law, Beverley and Roy Lomnitz where they met their other son and daughter in law, Colin and Janice Silber, their grandchildren and great grandchildren from Canada who they met for the first time.
The families gathered in Israel to be with their son and daughter in law, Alan and Diane Silber of Ra'anana and their children, Yishai, Batsheva and Michal. Unfortunately, Gabi Baker, nee Silber, could not attend the family gathering in Israel, but looks very forward to seeing the family in November when she will be giving birth around that time.
The gathering in Israel incorporated Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Sukkot and in the middle of the Chaggim, both Beverley and Diane celebrated their birthdays (Beverley turned 60 and Diane turned 53)
Almost every year for the past many years, the Silbers have travelled around the globe to be with their family and to celebrate family smachot. From Canada to Australia, Israel to Thailand and South Africa, they have been blessed with Health and the ability to show what close family ties mean and the value of this closeness.
It was one long celebration from the time they all arrived in Israel from before Rosh Hashana , right till the very end.
Diane Silber excelled herself by catering for over 150 meals over the Chaggim period for the family and friends in their home in Ra'anana. Diane said she thrived on entertaining all her guests, but admitted towards the end she was feeling a "little tired" Diane now looks forward for her family to visit.
On Chol Hamoed Sukkot, Motzei Shabbat, Alan and Dianes son, Yishai, announced his engagement to Daniot Mandelzweig. Danit is the daughter of David and Juliet Mandelzweig (friends of Alan and Diane for over 35 years).
David and Juliet are originally from South Africa, living in Israel. Mazaltov to Danits grandparents,
Gordon and Dorothy Mandelzweig and to Cecile Rechtman, all living in Israel.
The celebration continue in the Silber family and although some of the family have flown back to their various homes across the globe, the all look very forward to celebrating the marriage of Yishai and Danit in Israel in the near future.
The Silber family take this opportunity of wishing all their family and friends a Shana Tova and a year filled with Healh and Happiness and please G-d may Klal Yisrael know ponly smachot in the future.
