Spread the word. Far and wide. THE PROFETI ARE COMING!
THE PROFETI DELLA QUINTA
LIVE IN SOUTH AFRICA
Cape Town - 11th November
Johannesburg - 14th and 15th November
You heard the JJMC in concert last week, now come and hear where it all began. The music of Salomone Rossi was the first Shul choir music ever to be written. It was lost for 200 years before being discovered by the Baron Edmund de Rothschild.
Profeti Della Quinta are the undisputed masters of this music and after touring Europe, China, Israel and the United States, they will be performing this November in Johannesburg and Cape Town, for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere.
Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime treat. Book now to avoid disappointment!
"graciously sophisticated yet subtly mischievous...exquisite intonation and refinement...The music and the singing of it were indescribably beautiful." - Los Angeles Times, Mark Swed
You don’t need to be an enthusiast of ancient music to be blown away. Profeti della Quinta’s unparalleled artistry captivates and enthrals. First time listeners stand and applaud, tears streaming down their cheeks.
Profeti Della Quinta are the recognised world leaders in their field, singing to packed houses across the Middle East, Europe, the Far East and North America and gracing some of the most prestigious stages in the world from the Shanghai Concert Hall to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In November 2018, for the first time in the southern hemisphere, they will bring their unparalleled sound to South Africa.
Ensemble Profeti della Quinta was founded in the Galilee region of Israel by bass singer and harpsichordist, Dr Elam Rotem, and is now based in Basel, Switzerland. The group specialises in the vocal repertoire from the cusp of the Renaissance and Baroque. The Shul music of Salomone Rossi (lost for 250 years) is possibly the finest ever composed, and transcends time, culture and place. The Profeti will be delivering two concerts of Hebrew Renaissance music by Salamone Rossi and Dr. Elam Rotem in Johannesburg and Cape Town and one concert of Italian Madrigals in Johannesburg.
